Busy Weekend!

Cohen was home from Wednesday - Sunday.  So, we ate lots of cheerios in a short span of time, took wagon rides, played outside, and just had fun!

We had a Garbage Sale.  Not super successful, but I did manage to empty 3 totes. (sorry no pictures of our garbage.)

This random bird greeted Michelle and I on the drive.  We had to call dad to identify it and to make sure we could exit the vehicle.  I already forgot what it is, but it's still running around the neighborhood making noise.  We will award ten points to anyone that can drive down our street and capture it.

Eli was baptized Sunday.  He managed to make it through the actual baptism before pooping up his back!

We are trying to talk this girl into moving in for a couple weeks this summer, say mid-July?  We have offered her a room of her own complete with television, the opportunity to hang out with Brody, Baby B #2 and their sleep deprived parents, and the awesome opportunity to snuggle with Baby B #2 at anytime, but especially between the hours of 10:00 pm and 5:00 am.  I'm not sure why she is wanting to skip on this once in a lifetime opportunity?

Brody, Noah, Jarrett, Cohen, and Logan had fun chasing each other around the Social Hall...or maybe Brody was the only one running like a mad man?  He took a fabulous nap Sunday afternoon though!

Last but not least, Kurt and Justin finished out two windows and I think finished the baseboards!  I was so pleased with their accomplishments, I went and voluntarily bought them beer!

I think we need another weekend to catch up from all the activity this past weekend, or I personally need the rain to stop so I can get a few moments of peace at the office.  Today was an absolutely nutty Monday!

LE-LI

Brody finally said Eli this weekend...well Le-Li, but hey it's close enough.  He's still working on Cohen.  He calls him something more like Buddy.  He uses the same word for Baby and Grampy.  I guess Cohen, Baby Eli and Grampy are all his buddies!

Temporarily Relocated

Check out our newly installed baseboard, complete with corner blocks just like the originals in the house.

While Kurt squeezes in time to install basaeboard and window casings, we have moved our bed to Brody's recently painted upstairs playroom.  Our room now houses a very large saw and piles of stained boards ready to go up....there might be a liittle sawdust in there too!

We spent the last week or so sleeping in a full size bed downstairs or taking turns sleeping on the couch, so we are thrilled to be back in our king size bed!  Kurt reminds me often that it is no fun to live in a house that is constantly being renovated.  Such is life at the Brick Beast though.

Spring Chicken

Just got home yesterday from here!

Went on a 'mom' trip with my two best pals, Tracy and Allison.  I turned 30 at the beginning of the year and they will turn 30 next month.  Allison proved that she is still a spring chicken, how you wonder, by sitting in the spring chicken chair of course!

Here we are, fresh off the plane and finally at the beach!

We all had a great time just lounging, reading, eating seafood, and shopping. 

I read a whole book in one day and got a few random patches of sunburn...applied sunscreen while my flip flops were on leaving a perfect little area on the top of my feet exposed to the sun! 

Happy to be home to our kiddos and hubbies and ready to take them along next year!

Our Day...

it started out like any normal day.  I left for work, Brody and Kurt got ready to go to work and then Kurt took Brody to "work".  At 8:14 a.m., Kurt's day took a completely different turn though...his right pointer finger got in the way of an auger.  I think I heard my dad say that one of my uncle's went and shook Kurt's fingernail out of his work gloves to make sure there wasn't anything else in there to be saved!  YUCK!  Luckily my dad was there to transport him to the ER.  After a couple hours in the ER, he went to see a hand surgeon.  I got my first view of the mangled up finger tip and had to put my head down for a bit so I wouldn't pass out.  At 1:00 p.m., he was ushered in for surgery to repair his fingertip amputation.  They were able to do a nailbed transplant from the remaining nailbed, instead of removing his right big toe nail and doing a nailbed transplant from that toe and then putting his toe nail back on (I think I was probably near passing out at this point just thinking about it.)  Somehow, they flopped some skin over from the pad of the finger to complete the surgery.  Anywho, around 2:15 pm he was awake in recovery drinking coffee.  He gets to wear his ginormous bandage for the next week and then should upgrade to a splint.  He can't go to work for two weeks, which ticks him off the most I think.  So far he is still numb from all the drugs, but not sure how long that will last.  Brody isn't sure what to think of Kurt's big ole' bandage and didn't want to go to him tonight. 

Hoping for a good night's rest for the whole household!

We aren't finding out what we are having again this time.  17 weeks and we will just meet the tyke and find out then!

Happy St. Patrick's Day

Eli dressed up for the holiday...I, by chance, picked out something that had green on it for Brody. 

A few randoms.

1) The chime letting you know 50 miles to empty on the GMC Acadia lies!

2) Brody has some respiratory issues right now.  Steroids and antibiotics will hopefully fix him up.  He is sleeping soundly right now, but will it last all night is the question?

3) Kurt spent the day literally draped across the end of our bed sick as well.  He's a bit dramatic when he is sick.  Sorry love, it's true though!

4) Baby B #2 had a photo shoot today but didn't cooperate much.  Baby is facing my spine so just caught a glimpse of the profile once.  I have some fabulous pictures of his or her spine though!  Baby's anatomy looked great, which is ultimately what I wanted to hear anyway.  It's too bad Kurt had to miss this ultrasound, but his drama is best kept at home.

I think Brody has been taking lessons from Grampy on how not to smile for pictures!

Sunday morning, I was behind the door taking a shower.  Brody wanted either me or in the bathroom...I'm guessing in the bathroom because we don't let him in except to brush his teeth.  He threw a lovely little fit right in the hallway.  When he gets mad, he seems to pace the floor or lay down.  He did both this time! 

A new annoying trick:  he puts his fingers in his mouth to the point of gagging himself.  He then takes his fingers out and laughs.  If anyone knows how to break that habit, please let us know!

It's a BOY!

Nope, we didn't have our baby.  My sister Katy had her baby just awhile ago.  A healthy baby weighing in at 8 pounds 2 ounces.  He is 20 inches long.  Katy, Chris and baby are getting some snuggle time in right now and soon we will get to see them all!  Maybe we will get a name then...

Happy Birthday Grandma Sandy!

We celebrated Grandma Sandy's birthday on Thursday evening.  Quade and Brody had fun picking on each other!

Thursday marked the start of celebrating my birthday too.

Friday, I officially turned THIRTY!  I have decided the alternative to being 30 isn't all that great, so I'm embracing my 30's!  Cohen was home early for the weekend so we had lots of fun playing, even though Cohen was fighting an ear infection.

Day 3 of celebrating was all about food.  Breakfast with the Ellis's, Lunch with Allison, Gabrielle, Kelly and Colby and Dinner with the fam at Firefly Grille!  Cap that all off with some DQ ice cream cake!  Yumm-O!

Another highlight of the week, I routinely feel the baby move! :)

Thanks for all birthday wishes via cards, e-mails, FB messages, etc!  Now I must get back to the Olympics.

A warm-ish sunny day!

Brody had fun exploring outside this afternoon.  He even found mud to walk through before either of us could grab him.  Hopefully, spring will come soon so we can enjoy more outdoor time!
