Weekend Review

Friday night was date night.  We sat and ate our dinner and talked about our kids and then we went and bought groceries!  Exciting stuff!  Our dear oldest son learned how to stick his tongue out from his babysitters that night.  I guess when it comes to babysitters, you get what you pay for!  (we still love you Corky and Butters!)  Every mirror Brody looked into yesterday, he would just stand there and stick his tongue out at it!  Oh and Sunday morning as we were sitting in the front row of church, Brody turned around and stuck his tongue out at everyone behind us!
Fabulous, right?

Saturday were family pictures.  We had a picnic at lunch under some grain bins that Grampy, Kurt, Justin, and Uncle Pat were working on.
Brody provided lunch time entertainment.

We celebrated Justin's birthday that evening with ice cream cake...Sponge Bob Square Pants ice cream cake to be exact complete with blue icing.
Eli didn't get any blue icing!  We'll make sure you get a taste soon enough.  Your dad needs to experience the effects blue icing has on diapers!
Poor Cohen looks so sad that his mom's lap is full...
Sunday was Riley's baptism.  We'll be back later with more baptism pictures...

Brody likes to do whatever Kurt is doing, including sitting and crossing his arms.

Weekend Recap

This kid had to start using Albuterol again.  BOO!
I did manage to take both kids to the doctor's office on Friday all by myself though.
Might have been a small task, but I felt like it was a huge accomplishment!
The World's Fair was going on in Stew this weekend.  Brody and I brought dinner home one evening from the park.  The local vineyard was selling their bottled grape soda.  Brody insisted it was juice and wanted to try it.  Kurt gave in and Brody was thrilled!
(Please ignore the snot bubble.)
Aahhh!  Good Stuff!

Brody got a haircut too - a much needed haircut!
He sat in the chair all by himself and let Erica cut away.Riley got in some gym time

He is starting to get some serious cheeks and rolls...although hard to tell on his legs in this picture.

Riley went for his four week well baby check up.
He weighed in at 10 pounds 8 ounces and was 21 1/2 inches long.
He was a month old on the 19th.

Brody was 20 months old on the 20th.  We were at the doctor that day and he weighed in at 29 pounds 3 ounces.

Kurt and I celebrated our 6th anniversary on the 21st.
We had a picnic at Lake Shelbyville on Sunday to celebrate.  There was a great breeze in the shade and lots of boats for Brody to watch.  There were also lots of rocks to pick up and geese to watch as well.

Next weekend will be a busy one with family pictures and baptism.

Water + Sand = a lot of fun for Brody!

Brody is quite the helper these days.  Be it throwing away Riley's diapers, washing the floors, oven, or any flat surface he can reach or helping wash the car or his trike!
While he was sopping wet, he figured out how to open his own sandbox so he could eat sand.  Kurt was only half finished washing my car so I had the pleasure of cleaning sand out of every crevice on the kid!  It's a good thing Riley was very content at the time because it took awhile.

Grocery Shopping Saga Continues...

My last trip to the grocery store I almost lost my heal trying to obtain food to feed my family.  Who knew grocery stores were so dangerous?  Martin's had somewhat of a bottleneck of people right by the enterance.  I was trying to manuever my cart through the swarm of people who have reached an age that they no longer have to work, but can hang out at the grocery store instead.  I guess I wasn't moving fast enough or attempting to break enough hips and push my way through for the lady behind me because she drove her cart right into my heal.  I squeaked from the pain, but continued to hobble along for fear of what could come next.  The lady behind said, "Oh honey that's going to be red!"  Really?  She quickly forgot about me though because in that bottleneck of people, she found a friend and stopped to talk, adding a cart and herself to the already over populated area.  I limped off to the bakery to get donut holes to help with ease the pain.

These two greeted me at home, so that helped too.

50 years

Yesterday evening, the elevator celebrated 50 years of business with a big ole party at the shop.  I was personally in awe of just how many loyal customers came out to take part in the celebration, especially with the excessive heat.  So hats off to Courtney and Uncle Dave in planning a successful party complete with cake that was so good, Cohen literally licked the plate clean!  Congratulations to my grandparents and their children for 50 years of business.

There were lots of cute kids on hand to help celebrate too!
Brody was yelling MOM and his hands were full of rocks that he couldn't wait to show me!
This little guy was just chilling in his stroller taking in his surroundings.
