All the world loves a pregnant woman.

It makes perfect sense.  Pregnancy is a sign of such wonderful, promising things - hope, optimism, anticipation, starting anew.  People want to protect you and encourage you and dream with you.

Downfall, people want to know so much too.  The last several weeks have been filled with answering very similar questions, again and again.  So here are the answers to the top ten:

1. I am feeling fine.  Thanks for asking.
2. We are excited.  Very excited.
3. July 19th.
4. We do not know if it's a boy or girl.  (I had a producer accuse me of lying about this because no one waits to see what they are having any more.)  Honest, we don't know!
5. Yes, we realize Brody will only by 19 months old.
6. Yes I am still feeling fine.
7. Yes, we will be buying diapers in two sizes for a year or so.  Donate to the fund if you are worried about our ability to afford diapers.
8. Yes I am really going to eat the food on my plate and more if I so desire or the complete opposite of yes, I really am only going to eat some watermelon tonight because that is all there is room for.
9. No, I am only having one baby.  Thanks for the fabulous compliment that I look like I'm carrying two though!
10. I am still feeling fine (for the 12th time).

The End.

*Side Note - I wanted the following t-shirt printed when pregnant with Brody.  So, maybe I really am just crabby when the end of pregnancy is near?*

And so you can get over my crabbiness, here's a sweet picture of my little guy!  His hair isn't blowing in the wind...it's so full of sunscreen it was just standing on end.

My complaints...

Granted, I have no experience in bagging groceries, but I have common sense.  Putting my eggs below anything at all is not going to work out nine times out of ten.  Just to prove my theory, you should look in my egg carton right now!  I also am a systematic shopper.  I stack my cart so everything similar is together.  I'm probably a weirdo for that, but that's just how I roll.  So, you would think that bagging my groceries should be easy because everything is together.  Not the case on a typical trip to the store though.  When shopping on the weekend or in the evening, it's not a big deal.  When shopping over lunch, bagging my black beans and oatmeal with grapes and bananas is not acceptable.  Black beans and oatmeal can stay in the vehicle, bananas and grapes can't.  So, what do I have to do, but re-bag my groceries, in the heat nonetheless, so I can get them inside the office and not take up too much space in the fridge.

Another downfall to shopping in the middle of the day in the middle of the week is senior citzs!  I'm very respectful of those further advanced in years than myself, but there are times that they seem to think they have earned more respect than I am willing to dish out.  For instance, again at the grocery store, a husband/wife duo were shopping the meat case.  They had their cart in the middle of the meat case and were standing on either side of the case.  I was trying to be patient and just wait at the end so I could pick up the one piece of meat I needed.  Well, the Mrs. of the couple didn't appreciate me blocking the end of the meat case as I waited and had the audacity to glare at me because I was in her way!  Seriously?!

As a disclaimer, I think pregnancy had really gotten to me the day I was shopping.  Things that typically wouldn't have bothered me, just ticked me off.  It didn't help that I work and live with thermostat Nazi's and the thermostat at home was turned up so I had woke up physically sweating in the middle of the night and Phil had the thermostat set at 80 here on a 95 degree day.  I work in a brick building and sit on the west side of said brick building so the afternoons can get rather toasty when the sun is blaring hot.

Yesterday I was asked yet again, are you sure you aren't carrying twins?  Do I seriously look that BIG?

Happy Father's Day

We celebrated Father's Day by riding the train in Monticello.  It was HOT!

Monday was Brody's 18 month well baby check.  He hasn't really changed much since 15 months.  Stats:  28 pounds 8 ounces, 34 inches long - making him in the 75th percentile for both.  He had a drippy nose at the time as well, but Dr. David didn't think it was anything more than a cold.

Well...by last night, we knew it was something more than a cold.  He was really congested and generally just didn't feel good.  After a sleepless night, we went back to Dr. David's office and now Brody has the pleasure of breathing treatments every four hours.  He does seem better this evening and is definitely breathing and eating better.  He still gets another day at home with his da-da tomorrow though.

Let's see, we saw "Reed The Bible" (In case you missed out, Kurt named the baby the other evening and is still laughing about it) on Friday.  He or she was doing well and weighing in right over five pounds.  Sometime soon, we will scan the sonogram's for your viewing pleasure.  We have been talking to Brody about the baby a lot lately.  He still seems clueless, but he does love to hang with Eli, so hoping that's a good sign!  Less than four weeks to go...

Brody thinks everything is hot right now.  He loves to wash his hands in the sink, but if the water is too cold, he says, 'hot, hot, hot!'  He loves to take a shower with his dad even more than taking a bath, and he loves his bath!

We'll update again soon...

Haircut

Brody had his first professional haircut last night.  With the help of an extra comb and a few
M & M's, he sat very still!  I think it's a little short but Grampy says it's a boy haircut.
