Matching Outfits

I have a friend who LAUGHS at matching outfits.  Personally, I don't understand what is so funny.  Michelle, Katy and I grew up matching at lots of holidays.  As we grew older, we would all wear the same outfit/dress, but in different colors or wear the same sweaters with different style skirts.  Heck, my mom would even occassionally coordinate with us.  Just to prove it, I found a couple pictures to share even!

Now, you can only look at these pictures as long as you do not make fun of the mullets Michelle and I are sporting.  When I see myself sporting the mullet in pictures, I like to think I just had very large ear to ear bangs that just appeared mullet like!

So without further ado, the matching Yakey girls...

Trading Up?

Tonight, Brody traded in his paci's for a deer.  Yep, Brody now has one of Kurt's deer hanging in his room.  That deer will scare me everytime I walk into his room for the next few weeks!  I guess being rid of the paci is worth being scared.

We were anticipating a screaming marathon out of him because he was quite attached to his paci and for that matter, we were quite dependent on it as well at night time.  Thankfully, after just a few minutes of crying for his paci, he got over it and went to sleep.

Now, on to potty training...

WOW!!

Cousins

The stars all aligned this afternoon and all the boys took a nap at about the same time.  Hopefully Grammy has the same luck tomorrow with all four of them!!
Riley got to take his rest in an extra special spot!  I think they lulled each other to sleep.  The Bears weren't showing any signs of winning so why not take a rest!

Riley goes for his six month well baby visit tomorrow.  I'm guessing he is off the charts for weight and length.

Weekend

Riley geared up for outdoor fun, but alas he just stayed in and played.

The big boys were sulking because they didn't have a snow mobile to play on.  They made due with a sled and two little boys though!
Neither little boy was ready to come in when it was time.

Future Picasso?

He actually likes to put the paint brush in his mouth, resulting in his paints being taken away from him.  So, we have our doubts he will be a budding artist anytime soon.

Riley's Rolls

Mr. Riley filled out this one piece outfit quite well.  So well, you could see every roll he has on his legs!  Side note:  his right leg has one more roll than his left.  Yes, Kurt has seriously counted his rolls!

Brody's Birthday Pose

To document size on birthday's, Brody wears one of Kurt's ties.  He was quite into posing the night we took these!

The Bible's - 2011

Because I failed horribly at getting a picture of the four us in our best church gear on Christmas, we attempted a family picture using a timer after church a couple weekends ago.  Brody thought it was hilarious to watch me run back and forth!  So funny to him, that he started going back and forth with me.
I'm sure Allison V will love the matching sweaters!!! :)

Everything looks better upside down.

Somehow he flops himself backward, hangs out for a few and then sits back upright.  Seems like a decent ab work out I guess?!

For some reason, he liked to stick his face in the snow?

88

Grandpa Yakey turned 88 today!  Brody helped make a cake last night and was front and center tonight to help blow out the candles and to consume the cake.
Happy Birthday Grandpa!

Christmas with Grammy and Grampy

I think we ate all day...
and when we weren't eating, we were busy playing.
Eventually, they changed out of their matching pajamas and found their way to the gifts.
Even Eli found his way into the piles of gifts.
A top gift....the $10 shopping carts.  Brody and Cohen shopped their way through Grammy's house the rest of the day and into the next day as well.
Grandpa and Grandma Yakey helped entertain Riley.
Another top gift was water goggles for our trip to the beach later this year.  Brody prefers to call them goo-goo goggles like Dr. Seuss does in the ABC book.

Eli and Grampy hanging out in Grampy's new chair.
Uncle Justin excited about his gift!

Another gift that was a hit was Cohen's beloved Bobcat.  He was super excited to receive the first and second one!  I guess great minds think alike when it came to a gift for Cohen!
And that ends our Christmas extravaganza!

I failed to get a picture of the four of us together on Christmas.  Boo!

The rest of Christmas Day

My favorite picture - Uncle Pat doing his happy dance that he drew #1 for the gift exchange!
These 3 were stunned because there was a special guest walking through the door...
That's right, Santa Claus himself came to Grandpa and Grandma's house!
Some people liked Santa....
Some people didn't...
It's what Santa brought that had two little boys eyes lighting up!

Because Grandpa is really a kid at heart, he even got a toy for Christmas!
And to end, a happy picture of Riley.  He laid on the table and just giggled the night away.
One more day of Christmas to go...
