A Weekend in Virginia.

On Thursday night, Katy, Brody, and I set out in the rain for St. Louis. We met up with Mom, Michelle, and Cohen and spent a somewhat sleepless night there. Early the next morning, we departed for the airport. After being wisked right into a short security line, thanks to the kiddos, we sat anxiously waiting for our flight to Richmond, VA. A great tail wind had us to Richmond in about 90 minutes and right into 85 degree temps! We spent the weekend exploring Richmond and Colonial Williamsburg. We saw a lot more, but I didn't seem to get many pictures taken.

The Capital Building at Colonial Williamsburg
The Wilton House in Richmond on the James River...I had to cut my tour short because Brody pooped for the 4th and then shortly there after the 5th time for the day. Delightful!

Aunt Katy...our roommate and flying partner for the weekend. Hopefully she is rested up after chasing after two boys all weekend and getting woke up at night by dear Brody playing in his crib.

Cohen planning his great escape from the stroller...

Checking out the horses...Cohen knows what noise they make. It's pretty cute! ;)

My navigator.

Brody didn't do much in the lines of napping this weekend. Why would you want to sleep when the minute you crawl close to your cousin, he runs away. It was the best game ever in Brody's mind it seemed. Poor Cohen would crawl up the nearest person's leg to escape the buster named Brody!

Watching the planes at Richmond International Airport. Brody had so much fun exploring the airport that he fell asleep the minute we settled into our seats on the plane.

So, all in all, a great trip! Happy to be home though and Brody was super happy to see his da-da-da!

Thanks for checking in on us.

Coming soon...video of Mr. B. crawling and pulling up to anything he can get his mits on!

Grammy's Birthday

My mom, a.k.a. Grammy, celebrated another year yesterday. The most important people made it into the picture.

Today I Eat Cake...

that's what his bib said, but Cohen had no desire to eat the chocolate yumminess that his mama baked for him.

A busy Thursday night

Who knew baby toys could be so entertaining?

Brody had a busy evening on Thursday. The Bible's were up to help celebrate Kurt's birthday and dear Brody provided the entertainment. Chris and Katy were watching their nephews and they came over for a visit too. A living room floor full of boys kept Brody entertained well past bed time! Thanks to everyone for visiting!!

Happy First Birthday Cohen!!

We can't wait to celebrate with you this weekend!
Lots of Love to You!

As Aunt Michelle says...

Let the chase begin!

The army crawl wears the kid out. He napped a total of 4 hours yesterday...that's unheard of for him. He fell asleep last night at 7 pm and didn't wake until 6:50 am. Ten hours of sleep is the norm for him, but twelve is a treat for all. Hoping he continues the extra sleep through the weekend so we can enjoy it too!

9 month stats.

23 pounds
30 inches long

Yakey Bride #5

Cousin Nicole got married on Saturday. It was a long day for two little boys, but they made it.
Congratulations Nicole and Eric!

Congratulations to Kurt's cousin Daron and his bride Shellie who were married on Saturday as well. Brody power napped en route to their reception and then was ready for a little more socializing/flirting. Yes, Brody is a flirt!

A sad day...

My Jeep left the driveway for the last time Friday night...I nearly cried. We went so many places together. Who knew you could become so emotionally attached to a vehicle! Brody likes the new ride though...he can see out better and has his own personal vista roof to look out when it's not too sunny. We had a weekend full of weddings so new pictures coming soon to Shutterfly and eventually here!

Brody's new look

When he isn't talking or putting something in his mouth, this is a look we get often. Not sure if he is testing out the new teeth or tyring to chap his upper lip?

Trying so hard to crawl...

but, haven't figured it out so far.

Leaving his mark.

Uncle Dave was pouring new concrete at the elevator last week, so Brody just had to go put his feet in it. Now everyone that dumps their grain this fall will get to walk right over Brody's little feet!

28 August 2009

All is well.

Yesterday, we checked Brody into St. Louis Children's Hospital Same Day Surgery at 6 a.m. Although it was a super early morning for us, Brody didn't seem a bit fazed. His surgery was scheduled for 7:30 a.m., so Kurt and I had 90 minutes worth of distracting to do. No food for a boy who is accustomed to having his first bottle polished off by 6:30 at the latest was the biggest hurdle to cross, but we made it with very few battle wounds. Handing your baby off to his a nurse and anesthesiologist isn't easy, but we made it through that as well. He was back in our arms shortly after 9:00 and was said to be the champ in the recovery room. When they wheeled him into us, he was on his second little bottle of pedialyte and was ready for a real bottle. We were headed for home by 10:00 and Brody never knew we left Missouri.

Although he was a bit groggy from the pain meds, he was still ready for some play time once we got home. He had a good nights sleep last night and has been full of it today. Oh, he had to be weighed yesterday as well, so he now weighs 9.875 kilos, which converts to roughly 21 1/2 pounds! Chunky Monkey!!

FIVE WHOLE YEARS!

OUR FIFTH ANNIVERSARY!
To celebrate our anniversary, we left Brody with Grammy and Grampy and headed south. Kurt detoured on our way to Nashville through Shawnee National Forrest. We stopped at Cave In Rock and then took the ferry across the Ohio River. I'm not a huge fan of bridges, but I'm not sure how much I love a ferry either.

Cave In Rock
Kurt loves old counry music. So, we went to the Opry Friday night and spent Saturday night in downtown Nashville listening to all the local wannabes. It was so nice to have a couple days to ourselves, but Brody was never far from our thoughts. So, Sunday morning we were up early and ready to head for home. I'm not sure Brody even missed us!

self-portraits are always lovely!

So Happy Anniversary Lovey!

23 August 2009

Sit back and relax because we have a lot to catch up on!

The power outage Wednesday night sent us out to the front porch for some swinging before the fierce rains blew through. The power outage also put a hault to our daily posting goal for the last week. So, we'll make up for it tonight.... I like to hang upside down from any willing lap!

Pictures below are from the State Fair...Cousin Cohen was supervising Grammy and Grampy for a couple days so they met us as well. We didn't make it the whole day like we were planning, but all in all a fun day.

The rest of the pictures are just fun times!

So, hopefully we will get back with a post about why I spent my first two nights away from my parents this weekend very soon. We had a happy reunion today! Thanks for checking in on me. Leave me a comment so I have encouragement to post again! Sleep Tight ~ Brody

Truck Pull

I was entranced with all the pre-truck pull activity unto my ears were covered due to the noise when the actual pull started. Luckily Mommy, Aunt Katy, Grammy and Grampy were there to entertain me as well!

Uncle Chris won the pull at Altamont...look at him go!

17 August 2009

Whew...we have had two busy weeks mostly because my mama has been working long hours to get everyone signed up in ACRE. There wasn't time for much outside of play time with me and sleep. Daddy put in lots of hours of time with me and doing chores around the house! So, everything should be back to 'normal' again and we can get everyone updated on my life. This weekend Daddy finally got his BIG blue truck out so I could take it for a spin. You can see just how cute I looked below. I'm hanging with the Jones' boys today and off to the State Fair tomorrow. This weekend is my first sleepover at Grammy and Grampy's house! My social calendar is just overflowing!! Be back soon ~ Brody
