Ri's 3rd Birthday Party!
Riley was definitely excited about his birthday party. The morning of his party, I delivered a snack to them outdoors and he just knew it was the start of his birthday party. His only request for his birthday was a cake with a John Deere Tractor, like Grampy's and a digger. Aunt Jody came through with each of his requests. All his gifts were super exciting to him, even the clothes and he remembered to thank everyone.
To cap off the evening, Kurt and Justin set up tents in the backyard. Sadly, Riley couldn't get settled in the tent and slept inside. He was disappointed, but oh so tired, he finally gave into sleep.

90 Years Young
I hope when I'm 90, I'm doing something as adventurous as flying my own plane!
Grandpa said it was a perfect morning to fly...if only I had been a few minutes faster, I could have caught a ride.

The rest of June
Riley likes to occasionally snuggle into our bed in the wee hours of the morning and we let him for some reason? I guess Kurt likes to balance precariously on the edge to sleep.
Story time at bed time.
Lots of swimming...
B got his summer haircut, a buzz cut...quite proud of his buzz cut too.
Riley went to the beauty shop, his words not mine, for his summer cut.
Bath time...they still love to take a bath together.
I managed to drop a vintage quart size ball jar full of hydrangea's Brody had cut for me and slice my hand open...eight stitches later, I had a nice white bandage. I'm still mad I dropped that jar though.
And Kurt had to do dish duty and bath duty...his sympathy ran out quickly and I was back to doing dishes within 48 hours. It took forever with only one hand in the water, but it was better than listening to him belly ache!

And that was June.
VBS 2013
Back in June, four of the seven attended VBS at Trinity. There were some tears initially from the youngest two participants...well maybe screaming/crying/chasing after us kind of issues. After the first night, Riley did at least give me warning that he was going to cry! Once they were settled into their classroom setting, I really think they had fun and learned something. I have heard 'Go Tell It on the Mountain' on repeat out of Riley's mouth so that must have been his favorite song even though he refused to sing a single thing at their closing program....his brother and cousins pretty much refused to participate too!
Grant entertained me during the program too!

An evening of fun...
Back in June, Noah and Gabrielle spent a whole evening at our house. We managed to eat our dinner, play in the water, bike ride across town and then come home and scrub everyone clean. Noah might have drank straight syrup at supper, but otherwise we had a great evening. We were all worn out by the time Gabrielle started reading to everyone. Speaking of Gabrielle, she was such a great helper the whole evening. She even put an outfit together for me to wear to church on Sunday!
Thanks for hanging out with us!

Trek Trail
Over the weekend, we marked off another item on our summer list. We biked/walked the Trek Trail. It turned out to be a rather steamy morning even though it was overcast. On the whole, the kids did great. Brody zipped down a rather large embankment, which scared both of us, but he shook it off and was back to his riding in no time. Now we need to try out the General Dacey Trail. Hope our walking/bike riding friends are ready to try it out with us too...that's you, AEV!
Roz
Ri is a big fan of Monster's Inc. His favorite character is Roz. His favorite line of hers, "You didn't do your paperwork Wazowski!"
He also likes to repeat one of her other lines, "I'm watching you Wazowski. Always watching..."

Learning
Confession: I took this picture during church, but I was so proud of Brody. I had to have iproof of his hard work before it went in the basket at church.
